Condition Report: you will note that the metal trimmings are used to accent each finial, the drum that holds the movement, the bezel, ends of the Corinthian columns, and almost any bare space on the walnut case. Background pieces are gilt, and finial tips, busts and figures are silver / nickel. If we were selling this in 2004 instead of now, we would have felt it would realize 5000 dollars. Condition Report: case refinished, and with minor separations, minor warp in back board, and minor scratches, left side with replaced astragal molding, lower left molding with a few dings, upper right cornice molding with repair, top with repaired break at left, and with minor lifting and checking in veneer, dial with minor spotting and darkening, hands with minor oxidation, movement dirty, ticks and strikes, pendulum with uneven sheen and color, otherwise with good appearance and running condition. Lenzkirch, Germany, mahogany "Freischwinger", time and quarter strike. This model similar to the model 73 in the 1892 catalog, but this one with a different top bearing a sunburst. Serial #1,198,629 circa 1899.

Condition Report: clock case waxed and rubbed to a soft sheen, profusely decorated with cast brass bits, and with "cupid" pendulum cast from brass. NOTE the original top got damaged and someone has made this replacement from oak rather than mahogany, stained to match the rest of the case. If not for this we would have expected this clock to garner $3500. The well made movement strikes the quarters "bim-bam" style. Ht 41"

Condition Report: the shaped wood and bright ornate brass have been nicely refinished, and the silvered dial looks restored. There are a few shrinkage cracks in the front wood. No front bezel or glass ever was present. The signed round French style movement, with count wheel is signed Lenzkirch. It ticks and strikes. Ht 20 1/2", bracket is 8 1/2"

Condition Report: this fancy case is from the early days of Lenzkirch production, and has been nicely refinished. The silvered dial, with gold accents and stylized Roman numerals, is fine. Condition Report: from the earliest days of Lenzkirch production. This timepiece is in very nice complete condition with a soft glossy finish on the nicely grained, turned and carved wood. The two lower side finials may be too small. The white enamel dial and beat scale are fine; the brass pendulum bob is brightly polished. The movement ticks but was not tested long term Ht 51 1/2"

Condition Report: the dial has had the numerals touched up with black paint, an OK job. The balance of the clock, case and trim are in very good to excellent original condition, with the original finish intact over most of the black walnut case, cleaned and polished. And the brass trim with nice patina in the crevices. This case has double hinged fold out sides for easy access to the movement on set-up, Note original Lenzkirch key in plastic bag. Ht 40"

Lenzkirch, Germany, oak cased "Freischwinger", most similar to model 622 that is illustrated in several publications. Note barley twist columns on either side of the open well. Using the desirable Angel -- winged cherub pendulum that is illustrated in "150 Jahre Lenzkircher Uhren", page 136. Serial Nr. 1,037,868, circa 1894.

Condition Report: our experience shows that or many models, only a number apart, the difference was a case without the brass trim and a case with the trim. You will find examples of this in today's catalog. The model 622 we refer to has all the brass trimmings, while this model we are selling never had them. Using a quality model 26, series 2 movement, with good Lenzkirch logo imprinted. Movement runs and strikes; porcelain dial is excellent. Ht 36 1/2"

Condition Report: The finish is low lustre. The dial, hands and pendulum are all original. The movement mounting board properly replaced. Overall a very nice, clean example of this model. Ht 35 1/2".

The dial flanked by two female caryatids, brass castings with good detail. The well made count wheel striking movement with strong Lenzkirch logo and serial Nr. 866,286 circa 1889.

Condition Report: The oak case has been refinished to a dark English shade. All the bits of brass have been polished and lacquered. The door has a central dry split that will need attention, The movement itself has been professionally cleaned and appears to be in good running order. The original Lenzkirch brass & steel key is in a bag along with the case stabilizers. Ht 38 1/2"

Condition Report: the clock retains its original finish nicely rubbed down. There are minor abrasions on top corner moldings, owing to missing corner trim. The three lower finials are replacements (should be fluted). The dial is in very good condition. Note this is Lenzkirch model #559, and calls for corner trim similar to that on the Howard model on the cover. You will find a line drawing on page 104 of "Lenzkirch Clocks, the Unsigned Story". Condition Report: the ornate case of this rare clock is in very nice condition with an old surface. There are age splits in the dial panel, and a small ball finial is absent from the top side. The fancy brass dial is good, and the convex front glass is old and bubbly. The small arch-top movement is signed and numbered, and briskly swings the brass doll. Ht 16"
