Nicole, Nielsen & Co., for Dent, 33 Copckspur St., London, man's minute repeating chronograph with 60 minute register, 18+ jewels, stem wind, pin set, gilt plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel hairspring with inner and outer terminal curves and gold timing screws in an 18 karat, yellow gold, hunting case with presentation on gold cuvette "Downshire from his Mother July 2nd 1892" and the Downshire coat of arms engraved on front cover, rotating bow and pendant, and with London hallmark, date letter for 1891 and "EN" mark for Emil Nielsen, with Roman numeral, double sunk, white enamel dial, signed "Willis" on reverse, blued steel spade and poker hands, serial #30959, 54mm, 184.4g TW.

Condition Report: CASE: Minor pin pricks; Minor scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on inner surface of case; Minor gap between front cover and band when closed, no damage or stress to hinges; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Very good. HANDS: Very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: A few minor scratches; A few specks of verdigris; Small spot of oxide on minute register drive pinion control spring. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks). COMPLICATION FUNCTION: Functions properly. In raking light, previous signatures and addresses for both Charles Frodsham and Dent can be seen. Based on the presentation and coat of arms, it appears that the watch was owned by Arthur Wills John Wellington Trumbull Blundell Hill, the 6th Marquess of Downshire, 1871 - 1918

Switzerland, man's quarter repeating pocket watch with Jacquemarts, key wind and set, gilt plate movement with pierced and engraved balance cock with verge escapement in a silver, hinged back and bezel, reeded edge, open face case, base metal cuvette marked "Breguet & Fils", Arabic numeral, enamel dial with applied silver gilt figures who appear to strike bells as the watch repeats, gold hands, 55mm, c1800.
