Vienna, Austria, 30 Day, single weight regulator, Biedermeier period, in a slender mahogany veneer case with satinwood accents or banding along the edges, and with polished steel pendulum rod, and sharp edged brass pendulum, with brass rear, and the two piece silvered brass dial surrounded with engine turned brass bezels (inner and outer), c1835
Estimate: $4,000.00 - $6,000.00
Condition Report: best described as a modified "Dachluhr", the angled top with a flat section in the center and each side. Case retains its original veneer, with some minor chips and repairs. The well made Viennese movement, has 5 wheels in the train, winds to the left. The "tail" of the minute hand has been missing for some time. One shortcoming is that the turned brass top support for the pendulum has been moved, leaving 3 extra holes in the case back. Numerals have been recently painted and are a bit wider than this age of clock calls for, however they are very well done. Threaded thumb-turn stabilizers for case bottom are lacking [bases are there], Otherwise in very good original condition. Dial diameter 7" Overall Ht = 37"
