Black Forest: Hans Konrad, Brux Czech Republic, Biedermeier style wall clock, 30 hour, time and gong strike, weight-driven movement with wood plates and brass wheels within a pine case with reverse painted glass front. The overall form of the case is typical of Black Forest Biedermeier wall clocks and the mechanism is essentially the same as most cuckoo clocks of this vintage. The elaborate case ornamentation features Catholic themes such as the cross, the Sacred Heart, and two small prints depicting Jesus.

Condition Report: The case is in very good condition with a few minor scratches. The transferred designs on the crest and bracket are sharp, but some of the brighter colors have faded. There are a couple of small losses to the reverse painted glass where the two prints on either side of the Sacred Heart have shifted out of position. The time is indicated on three elevated dials, minutes in the center, hours to the left and seconds to the right. The condition is very good but we have not tested its operation. The dial glass has background loss. The lower tablet has loss as well. The hands are proper style, but probably replacements. Morse supplied movements to numerous firms, so this clock may not have been sold as a Morse product.

Condition Report: Refinished walnut case with remains of original finish inside. The case has a small ding at the upper right molding corner and a small piece of wood missing at the upper left side molding. Original painted dial has some staining in the center and at the winding arbors. Original hands and pendulum. Minute hand has been repaired. Partial label on the back.

Condition Report: Refinished mahogany and mahogany veneered case has a ding to the bottom door veneer on the right side and some damage to the two bottom corners. The throat panel and dial are replaced. Both tablets are modern copies of Willard glasses. The hands are period, but probably not original to this clock. The best part of this clock is the early Willard T-bridge movement is attached to the case with through bolts. Period finial now gold painted. Nice old S-Hook weight. Early bottom door latched (opens with the winding key) .

Winterhalder & Hofmeier, Schwarzenbach, Germany, 8 day double fusee Westminster chime movement in a rounded Gothic style case on bun feet, with round silvered brass dial showing Roman numerals, c1900.

Condition Report: the case has a nice original finish with a few minor dings. Brass is showing through in several place on the silvered dial. The convex beveled glass is fine. Fusees with new nylon cord. Robust square movement with the W&H trademark chimes the quarter hours on coil gongs. Movement ticks and chimes, but was not tested long term. W & H had perfected a two train movement that could provide chimes on the quarter hours.
