France, (Guilmet) industrial series "steam hammer", polished and patinated bronze case on a black slate base with polished feet, the hammer forming part of the complex pendulum, rising and falling, appearing to strike the anvil as the clock runs, Roman numeral metal dial, 8 day, time and strike pendule de Paris movement, with Guilmets modifications, and also with Guilmet's mark on the back plate

Condition Report: surface dirty, polished surfaces retaining their original lacquer, with minor losses, patinated surfaces very good, with some minor staining, base with a few small chips, numeral 6 with a patch of verdigris, hands with bends, one small trim screw missing on back, ticks and strikes. An excellent, unrestored example of this desirable model. Condition Report: very good, minor dings and scratches, minor tarnish on silver surfaces, gilt surfaces very good, with minor wear, left A frame support with small bulge from fastening screw, dial numerals with minor losses, hour hand replaced, ticks and strikes. The inscription on the front is from first Corinthians, ix 16, and translates "Woe unto me if I preach not the Gospel".
