Condition Report: in very good condition overall, the original plating with minor, localized discoloration from age and handling, marble with spotting, dial with minor, localized discoloration, original painted hands with crazing and minor losses, escapement functional, bellows at rest against stop, probably not functioning, but there is no evidence of mercury leakage, dome very good, service recommended. Condition Report: case with significant losses to gilding, tarnish and polish residue, front glass with small chip at lower right, left side glass with minor loss at upper right, dial very good, minute hand repaired, escapement functional, condition of mercury tube motor unknown, no evidence of leaks, service recommended. As this lot contains a glass, mercury filled tube, the buyer will need to make arrangements for delivery, as standard shipping is not an option. The pendulum on this clock has a compensation device attached to the inside of the rim. The pendulum has six screws, and curved strips of metal are attached by single screws on opposite sides of the ring. The other screws pass through large holes in the ring, and are fastened to the extreme ends of the strip, allowing for movement in the event of a change in temperature.

Condition Report: top final needs attaching, gilding is worn and has been painted over, suspension is intact, porcelain dial with garlands is excellent. Dial and movement reading "Pendule 400 Jours". The movement is also stamped "No.B.11- 2664-2". A nut has come off one of the columns and is now caught in the bottom dust cover. Bezel and back door close with difficulty. A very hard to find item sure to attract the attention of year clock collectors.

Condition Report: very nice condition overall. Some of the gilding on the fluted columns is scratched. Very nice statuette on top. Enamel dial is perfect. All four beveled glasses are good. Pendulum consists of two complete brass spheres. The case appears to be nearly identical to a Seth Thomas "Empire No. 25" crystal regulator. It seems likely that Tiffany Electric purchased these cases from Seth Thomas. A remarkable Tiffany Electric that goes far beyond the standard models.

Condition Report: this clock is in outstanding condition. Case, dial, and beveled glasses are all very good. Both the rear plate and the dial are marked "Pendule 400 Jours" with the "CG" trademark on both as well. This movement with serial "No.A.8.-525-2". Note the weights for adjusting the rate of the clock are sealed within the disc pendulum. One must use a small clock key to turn screw on the side of the pendulum disc. For reference, see Terwilliger's 400-Day clock guide, plate 1471A. He notes that this was the only complete 400-day clock made in France.

Condition Report: this clock is in excellent condition. Dial and glasses are all very good. There is one split in the wood above the glass on the door. Some type of latch mechanism is absent, but not really needed. Both the rear movement plate and the dial are marked with "Pendule 400 Jours" and the "CG" trademark. This movement is serial "No.B.12-3615-0". Suspension is complete. Pivoted top block on suspension. The weights for adjusting the rate of the clock are sealed within the pendulum; one must use the small brass key included in the lot to turn screw on the side of the pendulum disc. For reference, see Terwilliger's 400-Day clock guide, plate 1471A and number 65 among the examples of outstanding clocks. A rare and attractive clock.

Transferred floral images on the side glasses are a little worn. Suspension is intact. The unsigned movement corresponds to plate number 1439 in Terwilliger's book. The movement looks very clean. Nice disc pendulum. An unusual and early 400-day clock.

Condition Report: the brass movement plates have light tarnish. The silvered dial is good with tiny losses in a couple of places. The steel hands are slightly mismatched. The wood base has worn finish where the dome once sat and on some of the corners. The dome is absent. The disc pendulum is a little dirty, but good otherwise. The movement is signed and has the Medaille d'or award stamp. It is also stamped with the serial number 2131708. The suspension spring is intact and slightly kinked at the bottom. Additional details on this model may be found in "Horolovar 400 Day Clock Repair Guide". This very clock last sold in 2010 for $2000.

Condition Report: brass case is bright and well-cared for. Some signs of solder around the cap at the top of the dome. Enamel dial is excellent. Disc pendulum with serial number on the bottom matches the one on the clock movement. Suspension is complete with gimbaled top mount. Unsigned movement reads "Germany" and serial number 115531. Rear plate looks to be number 1167 in Terwilliger's reference book. A very unusual clock with the dome located inside of the columns.

Condition Report: brass base with a dull patina. Dial with patent dates is very good with two faint hairlines. Purple velvet on the top of the base is worn. Enamel dial with minute tick marks and no ring, and patent numbers in circle read "D. R. Patent 2437 R. L. Patent 2182" and "U. S. Patent 269052". Serial stamped on black plate reads "2274 / R". Very nice early disc pendulum. This model was marketed in the U.S. by the New Haven Clock Co. and shown in their 1886 trade catalog.

Condition Report: the brass base has dulled ever so slightly. Gilt castings are bright and in excellent condition. Dial and hands appear perfect. Correct disc pendulum. The suspension is complete. Glass dome is a good fit. The movement corresponds to Terwilliger's plate 1471 and is stamped with "PATENT ANGEMELDET / PATENT APPLIED". The disc pendulum matches Terwilliger pendulum number 21, which is often attributed to Jahresuhrenfabrik, but widely used by others. This is an uncommon, early, and very attractive clock.

Condition Report: the wood case with original finish has some wear at the edges and some small scratches. Hinged lid has a is unlocked and there is no key included. Dial is excellent. Good central glass column to keep dust off the movement. Suspension is complete. The signed movement with Becker logo and gold medal award corresponds to Terwilliger's plate number 1207A. Serial number is 2088449. The pendulum is shown as example 29 in Terwilliger's book and is attributed to Becker. A particularly attractive 400-day clock.

Condition Report: the clocks is in excellent condition with bright brass. The velvet covering the base has been replaced. Dial is excellent. Suspension is complete and unusual with the fork pointing backward. Rare pinwheel escapement. Movement back plate is stamped with serial number "65". The front plate is stamped "PATENT 29.IV.01 / No. 120072". Carl Bauer of Fürth, cousin of J. Christian Bauer, registered the trademark "Jahresuhr Sylvester" so he may be the maker. It is estimated that fewer than 1000 of these clocks were made and fewer than 12 have been positively identified.

Condition Report: outside of base is a dull. Empty holes on the top of the front plate suggest that a crest is missing. Movement plates are bright. Perfect enamel dial with the weekdays abbreviated in French. Steel hands with a bit of oxidation. Old glass dome with bubbles and ripples at the top. Suspension is complete, but the guard is absent. Movement back plate layout corresponds to Terwilliger's plate 1601. Serial number 126387. Very good disc pendulum with matching serial number. Not many 400-day clocks with calendars turn up. This is a rare clock in good condition. Similar to clock number 21 in the section 6 of Terwilliger's book.

Condition Report: brass base and movement plates have darkened. Unsigned ceramic dial is perfect. Good hands. Suspension is complete. There is no suspension guard. The rare compensating disc pendulum with two mercury vials is attributed to Gustav Becker and matches pendulum number 9 shown in Terwilliger's reference book. The rear movement plate is signed "Urania" and matches plate number 1575 in Terwilliger's book. Kienzle was one of several companies that used the "Urania" name. The back plate is stamped with serial number 143347.

Very rare Petersen 400-day clock with calendar function and two mainsprings

Condition Report: lacquer on the base has turned brown. One long crack in the side of the base. The brass components under the glass are still bright, with some light tarnish. Dial is very good with one scratch between 10:00 and 11:00. Hands and dome are both good. Lower block of the suspension has broken off from the spring, but is included. The signed movement back plate corresponds to Terwilliger's plate number 1674. The movement is held together with knurled nuts as is typical of Petersen movements. In his book on 400-day clocks, Charles Terwilliger states that this is "unquestionably the most complicated 400-Day Clock ever made. Only a very limited number of clocks reached the market and it was very soon discontinued."This is a very desirable clock for collectors.

Condition Report: brass case with an old patina. The silver colored dial is good with some very small spots and scratches. Backplate has fish trademark with the words "The Carp"as well as "PATENT ANGEMELDET / PATENTS APPLIED". Suspension spring is intact, though slightly bent. Glass dome is fits well, but is may be a bit undersize. The Huber attribution is based on the pendulum design, back plate layout and writing, and the shared horizontal alignment of the click screw and click spring screw.

Condition Report: the protective lacquer on the base has turned brown. Small scratches on the top of the base. Dial and hands are very good. The suspension is intact, though the bottom pin is currently a piece of wood. Movement is signed and corresponds to Terwilliger's plate number 1107. Condition Report: lacquer on the base is starting to turn dull and a bit brown. Brass elements protected by the dome have only a bit of tarnish. Silvered dial is good. Hands are correct and very good. Unusual two-ball " governor" style pendulum is original. Suspension is intact. Rare round movement (plate 1171 in Terwilliger's book) is stamped 26603. This model is shown in Terwilliger's book on 400-day clocks in the section on " some Outstanding Pre-World War I 400-Day Clocks", number 50.

Condition Report: brass case with a slightly dull finish. Enamel dial signed "Baden" has three hairline cracks. Nice steel hands. Both beveled glasses are fine. Miniature disc pendulum is correct. Top block, fork, and section of suspension spring are included. The bottom block is missing but can be determined from the pendulum and Terwilliger's book. Rear movement plate corresponds to Terwilliger's plate number 1619, though this one has a clear maker's trademark. It also bears the serial number 151642. This model is featured in Terwilliger's book in the section titled "Some Outstanding Pre-World War I 400-Day Clocks", number 14.

Condition Report: the case is in excellent condition with only minor tarnish. The black shellac that once filled the numeral depressions is not mostly absent. Proper disc pendulum. Minute hand appears to be a bit short. The movement back plate corresponds to Terwilliger's plate number 1051, attributed to Jahresuhrenfabrik with an approximate date of 1907. The stamps read "D.R.P. No. 144688 / U.S. P. No. 751686". The suspension is complete. This model is shown in Terwilliger's reference book on 400-day clocks in the section entitled "Some Outstanding Pre-World War I 400-Day Clocks"as example 26, having been found in a Jahresuhrenfabrik catalog from 1905. This is a rare and attractive model.

Condition Report: walnut case with old or original finish. Excellent dial with patent numbers in circle read "D. R. Patent 2437 / R. L. Patent 2182 / U. S. Patent 269052". Serial stamped on black plate reads "4065 / R". Correct, early disc pendulum. It is possible that this case originally housed a swinging pendulum movement, however it is the perfect size for this early Harder movement. A very unusual 400 day clock.

This larger-than-usual Neverwind model features a two-ball pendulum with full brass spheres. Original cloth-covered wiring in the base may need to be updated. Metal plate for the underside of the base is absent.

The plate lists patent numbers related to a compensating pendulum which was not always included with clocks bearing these patent numbers. The plate read "D.R.P. No. 144688 / U.S.P. No. 751686". It is also stamped with serial number 54432.

Condition Report: the case is in good condition with some very minor dents. Silvered dial with one small scratch and a bit of tarnish. Hands with light oxidation. Both beveled glasses are good. Suspension is intact. The rare two-ball pendulum is attributed to Jahresuhrenfabrik and is one of the only known two-ball pendulum designs. The back movement plate of this clock corresponds to Terwilliger's plate number 1574F, and coincidentally, has the same serial number as the drawing, which is 142086. This clock is shown in Terwilliger's book in the section on "Some Outstanding Pre-World War I 400-Day Clocks"as example number 34. That one is attributed to Jahresuhrenfabrik. Hanging clocks with torsion pendulum movements are uncommon.

Condition Report: brass is bright. Slight tarnish on silvered dial. Back plate of the movement corresponds to Terwilliger plate 1440 and reads " made in Germany" along with serial number 6754. Suspension is complete. Rare two-dial pendulum granted protection in 1905. One of small hands on the top of the pendulum is a replacement. The other has oxidized slightly, as has the small dial below it. Bottom of the pendulum is stamped "D.R.G.M."

Condition Report: wood base with some worn finish on the outer edges. Brass is bright and was probably cleaned. Enamel dial is perfect, as are blued steel hands. Lower block of suspension is not attached to spring, but is included. Proper Becker style early disc pendulum. Rear plate looks to be number 1203 as documented by Terwilliger in his book on 400-day clocks. It has the Becker trademark, gold medal award stamp, and serial code 1875065.

Condition Report: top surface of wood base has many fine scratches from a previous (probably disc) pendulum. Enamel dial with a few hairline cracks. Top finial of similar style is included but will need to be reattached. Suspension is intact. Back movement plate which is very similar to Terwilliger's plate number 1383 is stamped with serial number 116634. Rings for suspension guard are absent. Pendulum is missing side pieces and decorative nut for the bottom.

Condition Report: case has been rubbed down. Movement appears to be complete, though there may need to be additional wiring to connect batteries. Good dial and hands. Correct pendulum. Rear metal instruction plate. Tiffany Electric Manufacturing Co. created this movement and licensed its use to several other companies including the National Magnetic Clock Co.

Condition Report: (1) The brass case has darkened, especially the base outside of the dome. Lower block of the suspension is absent. 2 inch enamel dial is very good, as are hands. Dome fits well. Movement is signed "PH / Semester Uhr" and serial number 14923. Though Hauck promoted the "Semester clocks" heavily, perhaps only as 500 were ever made. (2) Brass is slightly tarnished. Very nice 1.5 inch enamel dial. Good hands and dome. Bottom block of the suspension is absent. Unsigned movement plate corresponds to Terwilliger's 1175. Very nice and uncommon Kiezle semi-spherical pendulum. This model is among the smallest 30-day torsion pendulum clocks ever produced. It is shown among the outstanding clocks as example 82 in Terwilliger's book. Dimensions are for the larger, the Hauck (1) Sold "as is".
