Condition Report: this is a large clock at over 3 feet, sort of a jazzed up store regulator, merchandised by Ansonia to compete with the German box clock style that was popular in 1910. These do not appear often. Note the suspension wire with "T" got lost and the pendulum is not attached in photo This is a one family clock and it appears that the movement was never serviced [complete but grimy]. Dark mahogany grained finish over hardwood. Will clean up nicely. Original dial, hands, finish and hardware. Note that a sister clock appeared as a prop in the movie "The Evil Dead", and its sequel. We sold the sister to this clock on 5-8-2009, lot 348.

Below the dial on the case are the words "Gott mit uns" ("God with us") which was often used on Prussian heraldry as an expression of unity. Condition Report: retains original tablets, however lower glass is nearly half flaked off. Center glass of white house is just starting to flake in center, but can be stabilized. The overall finish is original including crazed black on columns. The gilding on capitals was perhaps touched up long ago, however their is wear and some faults with what you see -- the flash makes it look very bright. Original dial and signature are excellent, also nice hands. Nice label inside case.
