Condition Report: this clock came to us as-found from the early collection of Dr. Hugh Grant Rowell. There is a lot of surface rust on the movement, no drive rope, small disc for pendulum is absent. There is paint loss and rust on thin iron dial, about 70% remains visible. Hour hand is original, minute hand a crude replacement. However it is a 17th Century clock, over 350 years old, and should appeal to the European horologist.

Condition Report: Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish has some veneer loss on the base, a broken tip on the left scroll of the jester splat and a poor repair to the right scroll. Period painted dial has turned yellow from a later application of shellac or varnish. This painted dial is probably a period replacement as the period hands are for a dial with the chapter ring inside the chapter. Someone has gouged out an area on the movement front to allow the pendulum to swing. The clock now has a gong rather than a bell. Original painted tablet has scattered loss and some inpainting. Two repro pineapple finials. Clean label inside. Original twist columns and feet. This is a scarce Jerome model worthy of restoration.

Condition Report: Replacement zinc dial, lacking weight, losses to period gilding, both reverse-painted glasses original, movement with no significant repairs of replacements, original hands, side ornaments and brass bezel, tie-down now gone, a 2.5in x .25in portion of bezel glass now gone, movement trapezoidal keystone cut out in the lower right corner, movement attached to the case with one screw through the back, "bat wing" pallet bridge and remains of "bat wing" tie down all point to a Concord origin. Chestnut secondary wood throughout the case including case back, sides and all blocking with heavy mahogany veneer is somewhat unusual but seen on Concord examples.
