Reproduction Seth Thomas, "Regulator No. 2" wall clock, 8 day, time only, weight driven movement in an oak case with painted metal dial.
Estimate: $350.00 - $500.00

Condition Report: This reproduction case is fairly faithful to the original Seth Thomas design. The case is not signed, but the brass movement is stamped with "American Clock / Made in USA ". The metal dial has been painted with enamel, and with the chapter and name have been silk screened on. The case front and sides are solid oak, and the back is plywood with veneered front surface. There is a loss in this veneer visible on the backboard to the right of the pendulum rod. The clock as two repair signatures from 1980, suggesting that it is probably older than that. The clock is in overall good condition. The metal dial has some paint loss where the bezel retaining ring rubs. Maintaining power spring does not seem to be engaged. The addition of an old (or aged) paper label in the bottom of the case adds to the verisimilitude.

Dimensions: 16in x 36in x 5.5in

Circa: 1975
