The original paper time dial is in very good condition and shows wear consistent with the age of the clock. The hands are original. The pointer on the day indicator hand is missing. The calendar dial is original and in excellent condition, as are the calendar hands. The clock originally had a wire gong strike but that has been converted to a bell strike, but the original iron mounting bracket and brass cover are there so it could easily be converted back. The Welch, Spring and Co. label in the case base is in excellent condition as is the B. B. Lewis calendar label.

Condition Report: The case is in good condition and appears to have had a fairly recent application of satin clear coat. The five finials are well-crafted replacements of the proper design. The dial is a well-installed paper replacement. The dial pan has been remounted so there is an extra set of holes on its edge. The hands are old replacements. Nearly complete rear label and partial inner label. The door glass is the proper type and has been reglazed recently. Original black flocked paper on the backboard. Nice original gilt pendulum with pressed glass insert. The clock comes with a black and white photo trading card featuring Pauline Lucca (1841 – 1908) who was a famous operatic soprano after whom this clock was named.
